Allied Rainbow Communities is accepting candidates for the positions of Executive Committee Members on voluntary basis for the year 2019/2020.
The roles of the Executive Committee Members (ECM) vary depending on the need and strategy envisioned for the organisation.
Primarily arc's purpose is to create a sense of community and belonging for the LGBTQ+ and Ally community through provision or facilitation of services.
In practice:
We maintain an online portal (www.gaymalta.com) to capture LGBTQ news and events taking place in Malta
We provide information and organise campaigns in relation to sexual health
We lend an ear and a shoulder to LGBTQ individuals who need to talk and eventually refer them to professional services
We advocate for the LGBTQ community at National and International Level
We coordinate Malta Pride in collaboration with other Stakeholders
We support LGBTQ individuals who want to champion a project for the benefit of the community
We provide opportunity for training and learning
We organise non-clubbing events that facilitate LGBTQ people to meet and socialise
We are building an LGBTQ+ business directory
We raise funds for the organisation and for Malta Pride through events and donations
Most of this work is carried out by our full-time community manager with the help of volunteers.
In view that the role of an ECM is purely on voluntary basis, the ECM is expected to attend a 1.5 hour monthly meeting and be a member of good-standing with all members of the LGBTIQ community both locally and abroad.
